Technische Alternative was founded by the families Fichtenbauer and Zimmel as a typical 'garage company'.

1989

The non-profit association became Technische Alternative GmbH.

Development, manufacture, and distribution of solar controllers, with the motto 'electronics for energy savings'.

1993

First company building ready for occupancy.

1998

Company building extension completed. A 100 m² solar thermal system heated a 90 m³ seasonal storage tank, and thus provided a large proportion of the heating energy. Electrical energy was obtained from a 3 kW photovoltaic system.

1999

10th jubilee of Technische Alternative.

Manufacture began to change over to SMD technology.

2006

All electronics manufacture changed over to a lead-free soldering process.
