Smart Sun home plus

The smart "Sun home+"

Engineer Matthias Gemeinhardt continues development on the Sunhome with his company, the Gemeinhardt AG. He counts on the x2 range of devices for an efficient cooperation of the heating regulation with the KNX system.

This home definitely has everything that one can imagine for a modern single-family house, and exactly that was the goal of its builder. A “Sunhome+”, an energetically holistic solution with the goal of a high grade of self-sufficiency thanks to a low demand of heating, but also thanks to the broad implementation of Smart Home functionalities, economical LED lighting and efficient household devices. About 40m2 of PV and solar thermal energy modules are featured on the roof. As for the cylinder, usually very large for sunhomes (10.000 liters in this case), a solar ground storage system has been developed, together with a partner. Permanent monitoring and innovative insulation have cleared all worries and prejudice, such as exaggerated loss of warmth.

Two universal controllers UVR16x2 and one control module RSM610 are in charge of the efficient regulation of the complex heating system. The controllers exchange desired values with the KNX-Bus system. The Smart Home takes care of lighting and insolation via blinds and roller shutters (thermal insulation), intelligent ventilation control and even load management as well has security aspects. A lot of attention has been put into automation to optimize comfort and energy efficiency.
