The CAN-EZ3 as a universal smart meter
The CAN-EZ3 as a universal smart meter
Where TA devices are already in use are planned for use, our CAN-EZ3 is the ideal alternative to smart meters of different power inverter manufacturers.
What are smart meters needed for?
For their full scope of use, modern power inverters require a separate “smart meter” (an energy meter, a.k.a. power meter).
The smart meter supplies data to the power inverter, chief among that the current power draw and grid feed. This allows for calculation of internal power consumption, which can be presented to the end user in the form of a visualisation or statistic.
A lot more detailed information, like voltage, current or frequency can be transmitted to the power inverter.
Your advantages when using the CAN-EZ3
- Saves cost and space: only one smart meter required for power inverter and immersion heater EHS (ATON)
- Suitable programming examples found at the end of this page
- CAN-EZ3 allows for a centralised energy management system
- Also works together with battery storage
- The query interval is determined by the inverter (the CAN-EZ3 is a Modbus slave).
- Flexible expandability for EV charging station and heat pump
- Freely programmable
Programming examples
We created and tested several programmes for separate power inverter manufacturers. Included in every download is:
- ATON+ factory settings for one, two or three EHS-R immersion heaters, each including preset Modbus communications
- Modbus communications configuration as a separate programme
The coupling between CAN-EZ3 and immersion heater(s) must still be carried by the specialist on-site.
